On April 25, Prof. Gerda Wielander, deputy dean of theFaculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Westminster visited the School of Foreign Studies (SFS). He was warmly accorded by Prof. Han Jianghong, dean of the SFS, and many teachers and students.
Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) and the University of Westminster, based on the principle of equality and friendship, signed an agreement on a “2+2” joint training project for undergraduate English majors of the SFS in April 2018. This time, the leaders of the SFS and Prof. Wielander had further idea exchanges on the new situations that emerged during the implementation to define credit exchange, application process, financial arrangements, and other details, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of this year’s program.
After discussion on the program, Prof. Wielander introduced the history and culture of the University of Westminster to undergraduate English majors enrolled in 2017 and 2018, providing a detailed explanation of the university’s talent development goals, characteristics, as well as the teachers and training plan for English and Linguistics majors. The professor sincerely welcomed students who would like to participate in the “2+2” project.
At the meeting, English majors from Hefei and Xuancheng campuses talked with the professor interactively in a harmonious atmosphere, saying that they learned a lot. Chen Xi, Wang Xiaoli, Li Bo, Chen Zhen, Zhao Fenfen and other teachers from the SFS were present at the meeting and joined in the discussion.
